Refund Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This page sets out one policy in plain terms. It expands on clause 3.2 of our Terms of Service and the billing note on our pricing page. Where this page and those two differ in wording, they are describing the same rules, and this page is the fuller statement.

The short version

  • Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial. Cancel before it ends and you are never charged.
  • Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Annual subscriptions are billed up front and are not refundable part-way through the year.
  • We do not refund for time you did not use. We do refund when we have charged you in error.
  • None of this limits your rights under consumer law.

Free trials

Paid plans include a 14-day free trial. A card is collected when you start the trial so that the subscription can continue without interruption, but nothing is charged until the trial ends. We email you three days before that happens. Cancel any time before the trial ends and no payment is taken.

Monthly plans

Cancel from your billing settings whenever you like. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for, so you keep full access until then. We do not pro-rate a partial month back, and we do not refund a month that has already started because it went unused.

Annual plans

Annual plans are billed for the whole year up front, which is why they cost less per month. That payment is not refundable part-way through the year. If you cancel, or switch to a different plan, the change takes effect at your renewal date and you keep access until then.

If you are not sure a year is right for you, start monthly. You can switch to annual later from your billing settings.

Changing plans

Upgrades take effect immediately and you are charged the prorated difference for the rest of the current period. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period, so you keep the higher plan until then rather than receiving a credit for the difference.

One-off purchases

Add-on credit bought outside a subscription is consumed as you use it and is not refundable once purchased. Unused credit stays on your account while your account is open.

When we do refund

We refund in full, without argument, when:

  • We charged you twice for the same period
  • We charged you after you cancelled
  • We charged the wrong amount, or the wrong plan
  • A fault on our side made the service unusable for a meaningful part of a billing period, and we could not fix it

Tell us and we will sort it out. Refunds go back to the card that paid, usually within five to ten business days once we have issued them.

Your consumer rights

Nothing on this page limits rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986, the Australian Consumer Law, or the equivalent law where you are. If a guarantee under that law applies to you, it applies regardless of what this page says.

How to ask

To cancel, open billing settings in your ReviewSpace dashboard. To ask about a charge, or to request a refund, contact us with the email address on the account and the date of the charge. We answer within two business days.

Please talk to us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback suspends the account while it is investigated, and almost every case is something we can fix the same day.
